Happy Holidays to all~

I know, it is not everything that is always fair to everyone, and not every moment may be to cherish, but Holiday Season comes to everyone. Hope everyone's holiday spirit remains higher than ever. I wish you all a happy holiday season. "All" means every single person on this planet.

Lunch break?

I wonder what is his favorite lunch item. Cannot tell from this picture at all...

Enjoy your holiday season!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season now! I've been so busy with back-to-back business trips and conference calls, etc., but never fail to have a lot of funs at the same time! Hope you all do the same. Is anyone sending any holiday gift to Sung? I am holding onto my gift to Sung until his next birthday. I already have one with me, but you know, timing is important.

Recent dilemma

Some of my regular visitors to my blog may wonder -- why Mari doesn't update her blog with those cool pictures Sung has tweeted and/or posted on instagram/facebook? Yes. It's really really nice to see his cool pictures there. I love them all and I strongly wish he or his management team continues taking/posting them. But then, my blog may look boring if I only use the same pictures. No. I'm not complaining. It's just my dilemma. When I first started this blog, I had some pictures to share that nobody else had access to because I (and my hubby) were the ones took those pictures. But that was only twice (and a while ago) that we were so lucky to see him in person. After that, I started grabbing screenshots from his films. Many people who visited my blog had never seen those before. Now, we have even better pictures more fresh (recent) and well taken. Those are available through his official channels. Again, that's really good. Good for everyone. But does that mean this blog has completed its mission? Let me think. Well, no. Because it's actually all about me adoring Sung. Though I really enjoyed sharing pictures that the other fans may have problem finding, that was not all about this blog. So, I think I can continue posting whatever I feel like to say -- mainly just repeating I adore Sung.

With our without shade?

Who else is with me saying that Sung should post more of his pictures w/o a shade? It's so good to see his latest pictures posted instragram and twitters, but many with sun glasses. That's good to see, too. Definitely better than nothing. But we want to see your naked face, too!

Born in South Korea?

I don't know any story behind this picture I grabbed from his recent post to instagram, but it seems to be taken in South Korea in 70s'. I know he spent most of his life time in USA, but he may have spent his first few years in South Korea. I just wonder how much he remember about those days.

Sung + beach = perfect!

Thank you for posting a lot of nice pictures on instagram, too! I keep my eyes on your twee, too!

Looking good with a motorcycle

Does he actually have a license to drive this? I saw him hugging a yellow Ducati before. But I haven't seen him actually driving one. I do have a motor cycle license, actually. Well, I should've said, I used to have one. I got one when I was in Kansas, but NY DVM did not approve it when I moved in NY state.  Or I just failed to claim that I have one to keep. Anyway, I used to ride one similar to this. I'm hoping to get a motorcycle back again in the future.

姜盛虎 = cool name!

Sung posted a picture of his name written in Chinese characters onto instagram. I knew how his family name looks like, but I didn't know about his first names are in these characters -- 成 and 虎。For those who are not lucky enough to know how to read Chinese characters,  I give you a simple explanation. But don't quote on me! It's just one of interpretations of these Chinese characters. Chinese characters are widely used in Asian countries including mine -- Japan. So, in Japanese way of interpreting, 成虎means a matured tiger.

Now I know why so many people thinks Sung as Jackie Chan. Jacke Chan's name is 成龍。it's pretty close. Tiger vs Dragon. People who see Sung as Jackie are the ones who cannot tell which is a tiger or a dragon. Make sense?  (I guess not... )  :P

Wait! Sorry! I just realized my typo. Let me make take back what I said above (but I won't delete them because it kinds of sounds fun.) Sung's name is not 成虎、but 盛虎。So, 盛 is slightly different from 成。In this case, I should translate like "flourishing tiger" or "a tiger on its peak," maybe. Again, I'm not a professional interpreter here. And it's someone's name. So, I may be totally wrong as far as what his name means. You just need to ask his mom.

Anyway, I do have one question to Sung or Sung's mom. He was not born in year of tiger. That's like 2 years after the year Sung was born. Why tiger? I like a tiger, though. You know, I like their stripe. That was what I said when someone ask why I pick a tiger as my favorite animal. And they said that one's favorite animal and the reason why you like it represent who you are. I guess I'm a stripe person. lol~

Thank you for keep us posted lately

It's so nice to see his official Facebook page has been updated very frequently these days! It's important for us, his big fans, to stay involved with what he is up to. We just can't take our eyes off of him!

It's also cool to see his tweeting. He is generous enough to get back to many of his fans with insightful words.

When I first started this blog, I had a really hard time finding out where he is and how he is doing. He had MySpace page where he share some of his works/thoughts and to which we could send some messages online. It seems it's been a few decades since then. But actually, it isn't that long ago.

According to the statistics I'm collecting for this site, I see many people still finding this site with keyword, "Sung Kang" from all over the world. It's so good to see him popularity never fades away. He is really such kind of actor that leaves us a very long-lasting impression. And he always makes us feel proud about being his fan!

Why changed the hand for the watch?

Sorry, I cannot give a credit to this pic that I found in one of the newest Sung Kang fan pages on Facebook. The page has a lot of pictures which seem to be from this blog, which I don't mind. So, I grabbed one that I have not seen from there in exchange. lol~

Yeah.. claiming which photo is whose does not make any sense unless you are the one who took the picture. My major source is online videos from which I captured screenshots. Not sure that makes those as my work. But the bottom line is, let's maximize the use of each other to see as much Sung as we can!

Is he back, too?

I was out of the country again for a week.  I'm back now! Is he back yet?

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Still on set?

I saw Sung just updated his official Facebook page from UK. He seems to be still there for Fast Six. Not sure if that'll be the official title for the 6th installment of FF. But anyway, it's good to know where he is and what he is doing. :)

This pic is from an old video. Not related to his latest activities.

I can't wait to see more pic from Fast Six!

More stock, thanks to newly posted videos

He looks very  young in this picture. He was young, actually. It was taken about 10 years ago, it seems.   If you still haven't watched Better Luck Tomorrow,  watch it! You won't regret. Seriously.

Sunday, August 26, 2012

What happened to them? lol~

I heard they are good friends. And Roger seems to be a good guy, too. So, I don'm mind posting his picture here as longas it is with Sung. :D  No offense to Roger and his fans!

10th Anniversary!

I have a DVD of this movie, Better Luck Tomorrow. It's really cool. I highly recommend you to watch it if you haven't done so. It's available from most of the major online video distribution stores such as iTunes and Amazon. Just search with keywords, "Better Luck Tomorrow." This clip is kind of long, but you won't be bored to learn what they went through. I appreciate they share this and yes, of course, with a lot of Sung showing/talking! Learn more about how Han episode 1 has been created. OK. I know, it's not only about Sung = Han, but to me, that is really important.

Active from England!

It's so good to see Sung tweet/facebook from England while being on set with 6th installment of FF! It's so hard to wait to see more! We love you~~~
**But this pic is from a different movie. Hope people don't get confused.

Same moment captured?

http://www.zimbio.com/Sylvester+Stallone/articles/OkSndQ5_LMv/Debut+Bullet+Head+Trailer+Starring+Sylvester

I just saw this article with the picture and realized it is pretty much the same as what I captured from the trailer on YouTube! (see two articles below in this blog.) Anyway, it's good to see more and more articles about this movie coming up in February! Can't wait~

And I still have a few more images I captured from another movie. So, let me use one here.

Do you believe in high school sweetheart?

I purchased "4 Wedding Planners" from Amazon.com and just finished watching it! It's so good to see him doing a very nice role here. This reminded me my high school sweetheart and sisters. Oh wait, I didn't date with anyone in my high school time and I have no sisters. But anyway, I wish I were in the same high school Sung went. We could be a classmate at least. Yes. We born in the same year. But in US system, he may be one grade higher than me because his birthday is in April and mine in December of the same year. Will that make us in different grades? Not in Japan, though. I will write more about this movie with more screenshots I took.

4 Wedding Planners (aka Knots) on iTunes store, etc.!

I admit that I'm getting older and keep forgetting things that I used to have no problem retaining in my brain. So, please execute me if I have already used to picture in one of my old posts.

Anyway, it's always good to see his picture even when it's not our very first time to see. Right? Yes. I still think of him a lot. Even when I'm not updating this blog, he is always on my mind.

I saw Knots will be available on Netflix. But it seems to be for DVD option only. My account = streaming only. I put myself on queue. But if you got DVD option, check this out:

https://movies.netflix.com/movie/4_Wedding_Planners/70250371?fdvd=true

And now, I checked back their Facebook page and noticed it is available on iTunes store and other VOD places starting today! But I may be too early. I couldn't find it yet. I will try again tomorrow.

The best!

I'm so glad to see this short film, 9:30, is viewable on YOMYOMF channel! This has been my most favorite short film and Sung is doing great! This reminds me how much I adore Sung.

Where is lesson 7?

I know I'm a week behind, but just realized that there seems no more lesson. Or there will be one after pausing a while, maybe?

I'm also waiting for his directing work featuring KevJumba.

Do take advantage of me!

How did everyone like the latest episode of Acting for Action w/Sung Kang? I'm getting used to with the craziness of each characters in this series. Perhaps Sung's character can be updated later. For example, he turns into more active and hyper scammer instead of melancholic style.

By the way, after this series started, visitors to my blog has increased again. I'm trying to make a public viewable dashboard to explain who those visitors are like which countries they are accessing from, etc. Well, maybe nobody cares about that. lol~

Thursday, July 12, 2012

:D

Before Lesson 5, let me share this video. I will write more about Lesson 5 that I watched yesterday.

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Sure, I'll do you~

Happy 4th, everyone! So, what did you learn today from Lesson 4? Anything important? I doubt it. :P
By the way, I really like him in red shirt like this. I like him anyway, but I do like him better in red. :D

Cool Channel!

http://youoffendmeyouoffendmyfamily.com/acting-for-action-offending-all-day-everyday-especially-wed-9pm/

It's so good to see a new episode every Wednesday!

I should start viewing other videos on this channel, too! I don't want to miss any episode where we can see Sung naked like this!  :D

Are we all Jackie Chan generation?

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/jun/22/entertainment/la-ca-yomyomf-20120624

So, I tried learning more about other guys on this series and found the one in the first episode is a famous YouTube star. And he is only 22! A very talented young kid!

http://www.youtube.com/nigahiga

I smell Jackie Chan movie series from Ryan's work, too because all of the videos I watched today ended with NG takes. That's very Jackie Chan to me. Maybe I just don't watch enough movies to know others, but to me, that's very Jackie Chan. But the last Jackie Chan movie I watched (no offense to him and his production) was in early 90s'. So, I may be wrong that these Asian film/video makers are still under the influence of Jackie Chan movies. I'm not saying it's good or bad. I suppose "easy to understand" is important. And those videos are well done and attractive. No wonder why they are popular. I just felt that there is no Asian male in public viewable videos who are neither Action star or Comedian.

I know Comedy is the toughest. It's not easy to make the audience laugh. So, I'm not saying these categories, Action and Comedy, are less important than other ones. But you know, if they are so anti-stereo-typical Asian Male in mainstream movies, whey do they stick with that?

It is probably a limitation for YouTube type of distribution and audience. They need to make something that their targeted audience would watch. I don't want to make myself sound negative about what they are doing because they are doing excellent and I love them. I just hoped I can see other kinds of Sung (and other young Asian talents) as well.

And I'm just curious.. can Ryan speak Japanese?

Viva, Rip-Off Business!

Who can be a better loser than this guy? Hahaha~
Don't we love when he is giving us this look? Enjoy Lesson 2!

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

It's up now!

I really like how it started since I am a true Jackie Chang generation. lol~~ I will save the rest of fun for those who haven't watched this yet. Enjoy~~~

Where is my next chance?

I am still waiting for my chance to see the other movies, Knots. It's too bad that I could not extend my stay in LA to see it which screening was scheduled in the following day. :(  But you know, we all have a limited budget and time. I need to wait to my next chance to see his works including some short films that seem to exist, but I just have no idea how to get to see.

Monday, May 14, 2012

So, I went to Saketini, but...

I finally got this special opportunity to visit Saketini in Brentwood, CA, hoping that I can feel some connection to Sung. But! All I found there is that Sung has sold this business to someone else and no longer involved. :(  Oh well. I guess that explains why I do not see the website for the restaurant any more. So, the present I intended to leave there remained in my handback throughout my trip. I guess I just need to send it to his management office later.

Anyway, it's not easy to bump into a movie start even around Hollywood, I suppose. So, I must understand. I was not that disappointed because I kind of expected this. But it was still good to have a lunch there. And it was very good. I was the only customer there dining in the restaurant though I saw several people came to the restaurant to pick up their order that they probably ordered on line.

The waiter was kind enough for me to find out what's up with Sung. According to him, Sung has bought another restaurant in Santa Monica called "Sugerfish." Since I was going to hang out in Santa Monica in that afternoon, I decided to have my dinner there. It's close to my hotel, too. But the funny thing is, the host in Sugerfish said he has no idea what I am talking about. But he said, there are many people who invest to this business and it is possible that Sung maybe one of them. Hmm.. OK. After all, I guess it's not a good manner to try getting connected to an actor like this as a fan. But I thought it's not unusual that some movie stars running restaurant business, and if you are lucky enough, you may encounter your start there. So, I hope what I'm doing does not sound like sick.

Don't worry. I had several other things to do while I was in LA besides chasing Sung's shadow. I had a pretty good time there. I will find another chance to see him in person in the future.

Very attractive characters!

I'm back from LA today! I took a red-eye flight from LAX to DC area. I had to drive my car parked at Long Term parking lot at 7am after a long flight. But I'm not complaining because I had a really good time in LA!

No. I wasn't able to see Sung in person. But that was expected. I was hoping to be lucky enough to see him at this Film Festival showing Sunset Stories. But he was not there. MC told us that he is out of town because he is on set, which is excellent. So, I won't complain.

Anyway, this movie was very very cute. There are many characters involved along with these main two guys. All of them are expressed very vividly. I like the opening and ending cartoon, too! And I really liked how the director used cats and dogs to appear in the corner of the screen.

Congratulations on all the staffs! I think this will be widely distributed later, which makes me proud that I was at the LA premiere! And the theater was even located right on Sunset blvd, making us, the audience, feel very connected to those characters in the screen.

I even could relate myself to the main character because I had a flight to catch out of LAX after the movie. So, I was in a hurry and a little nervous about getting back. And I drove my rent-a-car on Sunset Blvd to get on I-405. Luckily, there was no traffic around 8pm. So, no problem catching the flight.

Anyway, I should save details of this movie, but I can assure all of Sung Kang fans that you won't disappointed though you may jealous. This is a type of the movie you'd want to watch over and over. I can't wait to watch this again.

More tweeting and Instagraming, please!

We hope you are not done with tweeting and instagraming! We haven't seen your new tweet and photo uploading. Well, there was one new photo uploaded, but that was not your photo! I mean, you are not a part of the photo though you may claim it as your photo because you took it. Yes. That's nice of you sharing, but we actually want to see something like this. Please!

Sung = Mac user?

Looks like Sung's machine is either MacBookPro 15 inches or MacBookAir? Good. I'm a Mac user, too! Well, mine is 13 inches MBP that I bought more than 2 years ago... :P

Coming soon, it seems

http://www.youtube.com/user/YOMYOMF

According to YOMYOF, the new work featuring Sung will be up soon on their YouTube channel shortly. We'd better keep our eyes on it!

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Wait for me!

I'll be there~~ I'll be there~~~ Yes. I bought the movie ticket and air tickets and reseved a hotel in LA! It's coming~~ I'm coming~ Coming to see Sung~~ Well, probably not lucky enough to meet in person, but I'll be very happy to see his film~~ and his restaurant~~ Can' wait! Envy me, everyone~~~

My flight to LA = booked!

Luckily, my next business trip to West is confirmed in the same week of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival! I got an approval from my boss for taking the Friday off, so I can spend two nights in LA! I got a coupon to stay 2 nights free in a hotel in LA, too. So, I just need to pay for my rend-a-car to enjoy my time in LA~~~

It's been more than 10 years since I last visited LA. Back then, I did not know about this fabulous actor.

The only negative about this trip plan is that I'll be all alone. But I still go to Saketini for my dinner! What else should I do while in LA besides dining at Saketini and watching Sunset Stories? Three more weeks to think about it.

Monday, April 9, 2012

Chance to see "Sunset Stories"

Los Angels Asian Pacific Film Festival will be back!

http://www.channelapa.com/2012/04/2012-los-angeles-asian-pacific-film-festival-laapff.html

I checked my calendar for May 10-20, and started thinking.. should I plan to go?

Happy Birthday!

http://statigr.am/p/140964817746145907_26516419

I know I'm several hours ahead, but I have to be the first one to say "Happy Birthday" to Sung! I bought something for him, and failed to send it out earlier... it's still here with me. But I will send it out shortly like this coming Monday. Should I send it to the management office as mentioned in his official Facebook page? Or should I try his restaurant? According to Yelp, I see that Saketini continues to be a popular restaurant. But I'm not 100% if he has sold the business to someone else by now... I just found the link to the website I made a while ago is not longer working.

To be safe, I should probably try the management office address. Hope he gets this soon and recognize the gift as a reminder about who I am. :)

Always good to know what he's thinking

http://www.8asians.com/2012/03/29/sung-kang-talks-sunset-stories-being-an-asian-american-actor-and-his-love-of-comedy/

Check out his latest interview! I love hearing what he has to say.

And it's great to know that the movie postponed from April, "Bullet to the Head," is now scheduled for November release! :)

Intro of UNDOING

I just found someone posted this. "Like!'

By the way, I keep debating inside myself if I should revise or delete what I wrote about Sung's Korean speaking ability. I know it was not nice. I may have hurt him. But how he spoke could be very controversial. I know he loves his mom and his grand-father. And I'm not even a Korean. But as a first generation immigrant from an Asian country, what he said reminded me an attitude from an Asian Americans I met a long time ago. What they did to us, international students with broken English, was they built a very high and thick wall between us. They do not really want themselves considered as part of us though we look alike. We are so uncool for them because we don't speak English natively and do not have "Americanized" attitudes and minds.

Well, it's been a while, and I may have improved my English speaking ability and got used to with living in the states since then. But I still do not act like an American. I probably never will and there is simply no reason for me to even giving it a shot.

That cannot be an excuse for me to curse Sung's Korean speaking ability. Actually, I never want to curse any part of him. He does not deserve that. But hope he understands what I mean here. He still has my full support and love.

I suppose anything can be controversial. We don't have to overreact to it. We sometime need to choose a side. And given the fact that the speech was made for a party held by Koream society, what he said was completely appropriate there. I guess I just felt I am left out not because I cannot be one of Koreams, but because I realized that Sung is a part of the group who used to build a wall against me before I started speaking English comfortably.

*revised*

Well, let me revise what I wrote because I feel I was so mean. My hubby said I shouldn't post this kind of thing. Nobody else got in touch with me about this article, but I agreed with my hubby's assessment. So, let me just keep the video here, but my original comment removed!

More videos I missed

Looks like there are several more videos posted on YouTube that I haven't seen before. I'm a bad fan. I can no longer claim myself as his #1 most enthusiastic fan...? But I am!

His birthday is coming! I have something for him this year, too. Hope he likes it. And I am sending it out to him soon.

Sunset Stories (2012)

It's so good to know that his latest work is released! Too bad that I'm about 1000 miles away from Austin, TX. But I'll figure out the way to get this later. :)

Sung on instagram!

http://statigr.am/viewer.php#/user/26516419/

I'm so happy to see Sung started posting a lot of pictures on instagram! I've been an addict to this photo sharing site since December 2010, and already posted more than 1200 photos so far. Hope he does the same or more!

If you have an account with instagram, find him with this user name: delicioussungkang
If you don't have one, you can still check out his pictures with other site built with instagram API. For example,

By the way, I started updating my pinterest board. You can also check this out:

Livestream, postponed

Did you make it last week? It was very good to see him talking live!

I'm sorry if anyone mislead by my article, but it seemed that they decided not to go live yesterday. But it looks that they are actively working on new things.

Let's stay tuned~

Sunday, February 19, 2012

I like how you did, but...

His first Livestream went fairly well, I suppose. Since it was a very first one, there seem to be some technical difficulties that he and the staff members need to sort out. But I think we, his fans, really appreciate what they did.

I think this one was recorded and will be available later for those who missed. But let me write up a few things I heard.

The guy next to Sung is called Yumyum. He is a co-host of this weekly live show. One of the questions asked by his Facebook fans is "what is the most favorite role so far." And his answer was, "Cole from Finishing the Game." He also introduced a duo singing a song about a cat. And ask about a donar for BM. Sorry, I may have hard this wrong.. I'm not a native English speaker here...

(Note: Thank to a comment from Anonymous person, I found more about this. Check out: http://helpingjanet.com/)

My suggestions/wishes:

They should understand that the resolution of the video is not very good and many viewers may not have a super high speed internet access. So, letters to be shown on the screen should be very large. I could not read those crazy woman's tweetings at all and also about the details of donar they need.

Add subtitles to help non-English speaker to get better idea about what you are talking about. I did not get some of the stuffs.. :( I've seen many fans loged there were from other countries.

Change your clothing next week. I mean, it was good to see him wearing the shirt ant tie like that, but that is same as how he appears in Car Discussion. It'll be nicer to see him in a different clothing. I personally like him in red and orange.

I guess the point here is to make him look like a news anchor. But that's not how his fans want to see, I feel - I may be wrong, though. I know the show does not have to be driven by the viewers, but I'm just typing up my wishes.

Keep up the good work!

Are we ready?

Hope I'm not mistaken here, but according to the instruction from Fiona, those who are "friends" with Sung on Facebook can access LiveStream app from his profile page. But I also figured there seems to be alternative like embed the same channel to elsewhere. Let me test that. (Yes, I'm a geek and a cyber stalker.)

Watch live streaming video from sungkangtv at livestream.com

Note: I edited this iFrame option to remove chatting box because it seems that Sung is going to login from Facebook from which he cannot see the instant messages through LiveStream accounts or twitter accounts.

You do need to logon to Facebook to send messages to Sung. But if you don't have a Facebook account or not that savvy on this kind of online services, you can just watch him talking here.

Not sure if I did the right thing, but I went ahead to open an account with LiveStream, and became the first follower. See below~

More to come!

Looks like YOFYOMF production is active recently. Can't wait to see their next work featuring Sung~

By the way, Valentine's Day is coming? Anyone is going to do anything for Sung? I normally pass Valentine's day and do his birthday, instead. I start wondering what to buy... Well, I actually bought one already, but kind of small. I should buy more to impress him. 1.5 more months to think about.

Early Happy Valentine's day to you all!

Strange dream

It's just a dream I dreamed last night. Don't take it serious. Probably because I saw him acting like this -- a lot of unhappy face, Sung in my dream was a very bad and frustrated person. I tried finding out what is wrong. But there was another girl who was screaming at him. She told me that how bad he has been to her and warm me to stay away from him. I tried to remember who he was from my very limited experience. Damn, it's been more than 4 years since I met him in person. But I cannot remember anything bad. I kept thinking... is this really the same guy? He cannot do that. I cannot imagine he treat his girl bad. No way. But wait. Is it my chance to step in? Hmm... wait wait. I'm married. Uh.. now I know why I am having this dream -- yes, I often realize that I am just dreaming in the middle of my dreams -- I just saw a silly movie yesterday. I'm mixing up the characters in that movie and him + this latest work posted recently. That explains. He cannot be a bad guy and I still have no chance. Good or bad...? lol~

Is he from Taiwan? No~

Doesn't sound like him... but this poster is from him official site.. but he is not from Taiwan!

I remember he mentioned about this work somewhere... then, googled. OK. This is what he did during his high school time, according to this:

His voice changed since then, or this is hip-hop version of his voice. He should record more and share more with us! Well, it does not have to be hip-pop, but he can maybe read some kind of poem. My request = a sentence or two from Old Possum's Book of Practical cats by T.S. Eliot. Why? Because I love cats as much as I love Sung.

Which role did he do?

I saw Sung tweeted about this work a while ago:

I wasn't sure how Sung was involved with this work, but it's good to see him in the picture he posted on his fb page.
