We are super impressed!

It is very rare that my husband send me a link to YouTube video like this and says "check this out!" We didn't expect to see Sung speaking this fluent Korean! We watched a clip where Sung was speaking in Korean about 10 years ago as he is also talking about in this video recently shot. Back then, we didn't find him speaking Korean comfortably while he seemed to have been trying his best. What happened to him? My husband and I agreed to the idea that Sung must have realized the advantage of being Korean and thought it's never too late to learn more about Korea including language. Maybe it's time for me to go back study Korean language as well. 

By the way, I've been receiving a lot of impersonation messages claiming that they are Sung Kang. I know that's not true because he wouldn't write to me like "Hey. Thank you for your support. I've noticed your post since ..." He and I already met many times in person. He knows who I am and won't create a separate Facebook page asking me to become his friend there. Nice try. I've already had more than 10 of friend request from fake "Sung Kang."

I meant to update this blog many times since I read about this news -- Sung is going to direct "Initial D." I've heard about this cartoon but never had a chance to read. I read another one written by the same author and I really liked it. So, I'm sure I will like "Initial D." as well.

Looks like Sung has visited Japan in August after having spent some time in Taiwan. Then, visited Korea recently. It's really good to see him having great time in Asia. 

I appreciate there is another big fan following Sung's whereabout lately.

I'm still totally after Sung!

I know! I didn't update this blog like forever. It does not mean I didn't think of Sung. But I just realized the role of this blog is not as significant as before. These days, I don't think I can complete against instagram. I have actually two accounts there. But I started my account for my cats photos where I have decent number of followers though engagement level isn't too much there. I realized there are multiple other accounts focusing on what's up with Sung. That's really cool and they became my source of what's up with Sung. In particular, I was so impressed by the latest reel/stories of this account:

Thanks to this account, I found that Sung has bee in Taiwan before he heads to Japan for Fuel Fest 2023. It's always good to see him hanging around with a lot of his fans. I'm still closely waiting for my next chance to see him again. 

Another thing I just realized is that the number of followers Sung's official instagram account has is now almost 5 million!! Wow. I'm so proud of him.

Feliz Cumpliaños!

Happy birthday to you!!!

I’m still in a very happy mode since I met you in person last month. I’m such a lucky one. Thank you very much for making me feel so happy every day. Yes. You are making me smile every day just by being you and keeping us impressed with all you do. You are my source of all kinds of positive energy! Can’t wait to see more of what you can share with us going forward. Thank you also for letting me bragging about how you hugged me in Tempa. I know I’m just a fan among millions of others in the world. But when I talk about you to anyone who would ask me about you, I tend to tell them that you are my bestie. We’ll, that’s true at least in my dream. And I keep dreaming. lol

Reunited!

 

Yes. I said I was there. And yes! I saw Sung in person. I was lucky enough to join a VIP family who could get into the theater first and got the best seats. After Q&A session, there were not crazy amount of people rushing into him. I was slowly walking toward to the direction to which Sung was walking. And got him!!! Or he got me. lol. 

OK. I am just a fan. Not a staff member, not a sponsor, neither. Basically, I'm nobody. But Sung treated me like his long-lost sister. Well, I'm as old as Sung is and with that, I cannot be his sister. Indeed, if our age combined, we are 100 years old. 

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to say. I was insanely happy though I had to hide it very well trying not to invoke Security staff's duty. 

I know I'm such a loser, flying to Tampa, just to spend one night for this chance to see Sung in person. But it worked!! Well, he didn't show this to me, but he might have been a bit scared that this old Japanese female stalking him for almost 18 years already without any sign of giving up. I'd be very terrified if there is anyone like that. lol. But glad he didn't mind me showing up in front of him like this. 

I think we'll meet again in the future. I don't know when, but we shall meet. I started feeling time is not against of me when it comes to staying attached to someone. There is no expiration date for this. And as long as Sung keeps on shining like this, I can find my chance to see him again like this! Maybe next time in Tokyo? 

In case anyone cares, my husband is supportive about my passion. He doesn't seem to have any problem about me keeping trying to root Sung in every form available though he doesn't continue listening to me talking about how cool Sung is. My husband has met Sung in person as well a while ago. He knows how chill Sung is and he likes Sung's works as well.

Congratulations on winning Grand Jury Best US Narrative Feature Film at Gasparilla International Film Festival 2023! 

As promised (?), I was there and watched this movie! Absolutely funny and well-done! I didn't know 1993 is considered as ancient time, though. That's kind of pre-internet time and that's the year I arrived in the statues as a transfer collage student from Japan. So, somehow, I could relate how we may become werewolves. "An American Werewolf in London" was my kid's time favorite horror movie though I was really young back then. Then, Thriller by Michael Jackson. This movie, Shaky Shivers, is a grandchild of them, indeed. It's really cool Sung can bring those legendary artists to his directing movie like that. This should be the first of many more great works to come. 

BTW, I watched one file prior to Shaky Shivers. It was unplanned, but given it was a film festival, I figured I'd better watch at least one movie. And I really liked it!

I've been learning Spanish since 3 years ago. Well, it's just Duolingo, but it's my 1054th day on this app without any break. I was surprised that I understood quite a bit of Spanish-speaking scenes. And I really liked the story told there. According to Han in Tokyo, "This is my Mexico." So, for gringos and gringas, Mexico is like Tokyo for Asian Americans like Han. <-- I may be getting this wrong. But anyway, I felt very good about this movie and I'm glad that I get to know this beautiful work.
